Trusona utilizes an integration with AAMVA to perform validation checks against the data on a presented government issued document.
In some cases, you'll notice that when completing the Trusonafication process, the DMV column in the workspace will be empty, or the DMV button will by greyed out. There can be several reasons for this:
1. The state is not participating in the AAMVA driver license data verification service.
- This is a result of the local legislature choosing to not participate. Some notable states are CA and NY.
2. The state DMV is performing maintenance on their system.
- In this case, AAMVA is unable to connect to the state's DMV database, and cannot provide any matching functionality. Maintenance is normally performed during off-peak hours, however unexpected downtime can still occur.
3. Trusona cannot reach AAMVA to initiate data validation services.
